Open Protocol Mine-wide Monitoring System (OPMMS)

A centralized package which enables all equipment using Ethernet protocol to communicate over the same system, and affords complete system integration, control, and monitoring.  This Mine-wide Monitoring System utilizes Allen Bradley PLC equipment and Rockwell software connected on the same fiber optic network with all other devices which use the same TCP/IP protocol.  Some of the system integration possibilities are listed below.

  • Environmental Monitoring Using Modbus Protocol

  • Environmental Monitoring using 4-20ma Devices

  • Monitor and Control of PLC Equipment
(e.g. Belt Starters, Motor Control Centers,  Load-out Facilities)

  • Miner and Longwall Control Centers with Allen Bradley PLC's

  • Monitor and Control of Fan Locations

  • Remote Watering and De-Watering Pump Monitoring and Control

  • VOIP Phone Network
Our corporate partner Carroll Engineering Co. is authorized by Allen Bradley as an OEM to incorporate their PLC and software components in the design and construction of this OPMMS.

Our corporate partner Carroll Engineering Co.. is also authorized by Rockwell/Allen Bradley as a systems integrator with technical support available from Rockwell International.

This innovative technology is allowing the potential of industry standard open protocol equipment to be integrated with underground mining operations.

IP Security Camera Theft a problem??  Monitor hazardous areas, high traffic zones, and warehouses to promote safer work practices as well as providing a significant theft deterrent above and below ground. Strategically placed camera's around powercenters, fans, and walkways could also help in preventing or locating trapped or lost miners.
